Jump in Durable Goods Orders Buoyed by Aircraft Sales

The National Association of Manufacturers said the Census Bureau’s most recent report on new durable goods orders rose 4.2% in June, lifting it to an all-time high. NAM noted the jump in new orders was mainly attributable to increased aircraft sales.

Durable Goods Orders Drop 2%

In its latest report on manufacturers’ shipments, inventories and orders, the U.S. Census Bureau said new orders for durable goods in January decreased 2%. Excluding transportation, new orders increased 1.3%.
