According to the ABI, total commercial Chapter 11 bankruptcies for the month of June 2017 were 581, representing a 16% increase from the 502 commercial filings in June 2016.

The American Bankruptcy Institute reported total commercial bankruptcy filings in July 2014 decreased to 2,874 or 21% from the 3,632 business filings recorded in July 2013.
Total commercial filings during the first six months of the year were 18,492, representing a 22% decrease from the 23,569 filings during the same period in 2013, according to data provided by Epiq Systems.
Total commercial filings in the U.S. decreased in May 2013 from last year to 4,017, representing a 25% decline from the 5,341 business filings recorded in May 2012.
