Ares Capital promoted Scott Lem, the company’s chief accounting officer, vice president and treasurer, to CFO, effective Feb. 15, 2024. Lem will succeed Penni Roll, who plans to step down as Ares Capital’s CFO on the same date.
Jana Markowicz has been appointed as chief operating officer at Ares Capital Corporation. In this newly created role, Markowicz will also serve as COO of Ares Management’s U.S. Direct Lending strategy where she will collaborate with the U.S. Direct Lending co-heads and investment committee members.
Ares Management won four awards from Private Debt Investor and Private Equity International, including Global Fund Manager of the Year, BDC of the Year (Americas), Distressed Debt Investor of the Year (Asia- Pacific) and Lender of the Year (North America).
