White Oak Commercial Finance – The Collateral Analyst administers the independent analysis of borrowing base certificates in the Asset Based Lending (ABL) portfolio and ensures accurate review of supporting collateral documentation. This critical position monitors for compliance with all Borrower reporting requirements and eligibility parameters as defined by credit approval and loan documentation in order to protect WOCF’s interest. In addition, the Collateral Analyst works closely with WOCF Account Executives to ensure the successful execution of many key deliverables (as outlined below in Position Responsibilities).

Position Responsibilities:

Primary:

  • Assists WOCF Account Executives (AEs) with:
    • Completion of ad hoc monthly reporting schedules on One Drive; and
    • Ensuring that client files are up to date in Box.
  • Understanding of Client loan documentation as it relates to Account Management.
  • Ensures proper and timely reporting of information in concert with loan agreements; interacts directly with lending Clients and AEs.
  • Reviews and sets up advance requests within set commitment, advance rates and collateral limits; obtains proper approvals for Client advances.
  • Ensures that borrowing base reviews and weekly reporting are monitored correctly and completed in a timely fashion to avoid any administrative past due fees.
  • Reconciles Client collateral and loans upon each borrowing base submission against CLMS.
  • Posts collateral adjustments to CLMS immediately upon receipt and brings any unusual items to AEs attention.
  • Understands the cash process for each client and how cash affects the loan and collateral; works with the Operations team to identify issues relating to cash postings.
  • Communicates with Credit, AEs and related support staff to ensure prompt resolution of borrowing availability, past due and default issues.
  • Identifies emerging trends/risk factors with Clients, including deteriorating credit conditions and collateral diminution.
  • Assists in the completion of monthly Trend Cards.
  • Reviews interim and ME collateral reporting packages consisting of AR, AP, INV, Sales, Cash, etc including reconciliations back to Client General Ledgers.
  • Follows-up on field examination findings, reconciling all pertinent information to the bank’s loan system (CLMS).
  • Attends and actively participates in Portfolio Management meetings and Client Meetings.
  • Works to continuously improve processes.
  • With the Account Executives, effectively interacts with Clients to enhance their relationship with WOCF.
  • Performs all other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

Secondary:

  • Assists WOCF Account Executives (AEs) with:
    • Financial statement spreads;
    • Annual and interim credit authorization completion;
    • Monthly account status memos; and
    • Collateral and financial model inputs.
  • Assists in the performance and reconciliation of any verifications.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Associate degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent work experience; general understanding of accounting principles
  • At least five years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and inventory as collateral and as a secondary source of payment
  • Knowledge of financial and collateral analysis involving A/R and A/P aging, inventory listings, as well as the ability to identify irregularities
  • Knowledge of cash management, other banking products and loan systems and related services
  • Experience working with commercial loan documentation, specifically involving covenant structures and borrowing base calculations (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Monarch and CLMS Application systems (preferred)
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive information
  • Strong analytical ability, including the ability to analyze problem accounts and propose solutions to customer service issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members
