White & Case promoted 40 lawyers around the world to its partnership, including 24 involved in corporate financial matters, mergers & acquisitions and restructuring. The promotions are effective January 1, 2017 and represent 11 of the firm’s global practices in 17 locations.

More than half of our new partners are based in the United States and London, in line with our stated strategy to grow our offices in these locations.”

AMERICAS

  • Raymond Azar was named a partner in our Global Project Finance Practice. Based in New York, he focuses on international corporate and commercial transactions, including asset-based structured financings and related capital markets transactions in the oil and gas, petrochemical and power sectors.
  • Michael Deyong was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in New York, Michael represents clients in a broad range of domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, sales, spinoffs and going-private transactions, with particular experience in public company M&A in the healthcare and telecommunications industries.
  • Binoy Dharia was named a partner in the Global Banking Practice. Based in New York, he is focused on advising major commercial and investment banks, financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers in a variety of leveraged, corporate finance and M&A transactions.
  • Steven Gee was named a partner in the Global Tax Practice. Based in New York, he focuses on the complex tax aspects of mergers & acquisitions, intellectual property and securitization transactions.
  • Kim Haviv was named a partner in the Global Commercial Litigation Practice. Based in New York, she focuses on complex contract and business disputes, securities fraud actions, bankruptcy-related litigation and regulatory investigations.
  • Bibiana Jaimes was named a partner in the Global Capital Markets Practice. Based in New York, Bibiana focuses on representing issuers and underwriters in a range of Latin American capital markets and bank finance transactions, including registered public offerings, Rule 144A offerings and Regulation S offerings.
  • Thomas MacWright was named a partner in the Global Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. Based in New York, Thomas regularly represents debtors, bondholders, banks and investors in corporate bankruptcy matters and workouts, and he has extensive experience representing large companies and creditors in cross-border restructurings.
  • Jane E. Rueger was named a partner in the Global Project Finance Practice. Based in Washington, D.C., she counsels utilities, transmission providers, large industrials and energy marketers on regulatory issues under the U.S. Federal Power Act and Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act.
  • Andrew Weisberg was named a partner in the Global Capital Markets Practice. Based in New York, he focuses on public and private capital markets transactions, including high-yield and investment-grade bond offerings, leveraged financings, equity offerings and liability management transactions.

EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

  • Muriel Alhadeff was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in Brussels, she has strong experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, particularly in the financial institutions sector and has been involved in private equity and venture capital transactions in various jurisdictions.
  • Katja Butler was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in London, she focuses on private equity, including advising financial sponsor clients and their portfolio companies on all aspects of M&A, capital restructuring and general advisory work.
  • Amanda Cowell was named a partner in the Global Commercial Litigation Practice. Based in London, Amanda has acted for corporate, telecommunications and banking clients on commercial litigation and domestic and international arbitration in jurisdictions including the British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, India, Curaçao, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
  • Ben Davies was named a partner in the Global Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice. Based in London, Ben has experience advising clients on complex international restructuring, workout and insolvency matters, as well as on a range of finance transactions.
  • Rebecca Emory was named a partner in the  Global Capital Markets Practice. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Rebecca advises banks, private equity firms and corporations on high-yield bond offerings and public and private debt and equity transactions.
  • Emma Foster was named a partner in the Global Banking Practice. Based in London, Emma advises banks and financial institutions on cross-border acquisition finance, restructuring, trade finance and general bank lending.
  • Leonardo Graffi was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in Milan, he has experience in corporate, M&A and private equity transactions, where he has advised clients on a number of acquisitions and disposals of companies and businesses across the banking, insurance, automotive, aviation, pharmaceuticals and energy sectors.
  • Gareth Hodder was named a partner in the Global Project Finance Practice. Currently in London, Gareth will relocate to the firm’s Johannesburg office. He advises on large-scale projects, financings, investments and acquisitions in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power, hotel and real estate sectors.
  • Jan Linda was named a partner in our Global Banking Practice. Based in Prague, he provides legal services to banks and other financial institutions on cross-border, syndicated and bilateral financings, particularly in the areas of project, export, real estate and acquisition financings.
  • Jarlath McGurran was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in London, he has experience in international public and private M&A transactions and joint ventures.
  • Ivan Paskal was named a partner in the Global Project Finance Practice. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, he focuses on international corporate and financing transactions, particularly in the energy sector, where he represents sponsors, developers, investors and lenders across all aspects of project development, financing and restructurings.
  • Hendrik Röhricht was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, he represents financial sponsors, management teams and corporates in domestic and cross-border transactions, including carve-outs, public takeovers and joint ventures.
  • Markus Stephanblome was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Markus advises on, structures and executes public and private M&A and private equity transactions, and advises clients on corporate, group and reorganization matters.
  • Yoko Takagi was named a partner in the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Based in Madrid, Yoko advises on general corporate law, primarily M&A, private equity and capital markets transactions, with experience both domestically and internationally.

  • Seiji Matsuzoe was named a partner in the Global Banking Practice. Based in Tokyo, Seiji works in a number of structured finance areas, including CDOs, credit-linked loans, derivatives, debt capital markets, acquisition finance and general banking transactions.
