Wells Fargo promoted Bernie Ramos, a 16-year veteran of the company, to managing director and Hispanic segment leader within its commercial banking division.
Ramos will report to Ruth Jacks, commercial banking diverse segments leader at Wells Fargo, and has more than 20 years of experience helping middle-market companies financially. In his new position, Ramos will transition from his current market executive role in the local governmental banking division, which he has held since 2016, to manage new client acquisition and to deepen relationships with Hispanic clients and prospects. Based in New York City and Albany, NY, Ramos will serve customers throughout the United States.
Ramos joined Wells Fargo in 2007 as a relationship manager to cover New York, New England and Puerto Rico. Prior to Wells Fargo, he was a market executive at Bank of America covering New York and New England after holding various positions with Fleet Bank.
Ramos’ promotion comes on the heels of Wells Fargo’s appointment of Patty Juarez as the new head of Hispanic/Latino affairs earlier this year.
Ramos is involved with the YMCA Black & Latino Achievers Program and serves on the New York Advisory Council for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Within Wells Fargo, he serves as vice president for the company’s Enterprise Hispanic/Latino Employee Resource Network (ERN) and is an executive advisor for the New York City chapter.
