Steven Weinstein, a member of the executive committee of Riemer & Braunstein and the chair of the firm’s real estate finance practice area, has been appointed the firm’s managing partner and chair of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Weinstein will succeed Stanley Riemer, 72, who has been the managing partner for more than 40 years.

The change in management is part of a planned transition by the firm and Riemer, who will maintain his relationship with the firm, working with Weinstein and the other partners, until his retirement later this year.

“Stanley retires with Riemer & Braunstein positioned as a leader in banking, real estate and finance law,” said Weinstein. “My hope is to work with our Executive Committee consisting of some of our key younger partners to continue our long-term success. We have plans to expand geographically to continue to provide broad based representation for our clients, including many of the nation’s top-tier financial institutions, making the firm a national leader in this practice area,” Weinstein added.

Riemer & Braunstein was established in Boston in 1933. It expanded to New York City in 2004, to Chicago in 2006, and to Miami in 2019. The firm is best known for its commercial finance practice, including real estate finance, commercial lending, and loan restructuring.
