The Bancorp has announced key additions to the company’s executive leadership team. The new appointments had distinguished themselves as leaders and significant contributors to the company and join other named executive officers and managing directors in providing strategic direction to the company.
Erika Caesar joined the bank in October 2017 as managing director, assistant general counsel, advising the company on a wide range of legal, regulatory, strategic and corporate governance items, and was recently appointed chief diversity officer. Prior to joining The Bancorp, Caesar practiced law at a national law firm.
Gregor Garry, the company’s chief risk officer has been appointed deputy chief operating officer. As deputy COO, he will assist the company’s COO in leading several key divisions of the company, including operations, financial crimes risk management and consumer compliance. Previously, Garry served as The Bancorp’s chief audit executive.
Jennifer F. Terry serves as managing director, chief human resources officer of the company. Working out of the company’s Wilmington, DE headquarters, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic plan for all human resource operations to ensure a superior employee and candidate experience. Terry most recently served as TD Bank’s vice president, senior manager of HR operations and delivery.
Maria Wainwright joined the company in 2013 and was recently named managing director, chief marketing officer. In her role, Wainwright leads the strategic planning, development, and execution of all marketing, internal and external communications, branding and investor relations functions of the organization. Previously, Wainwright had various marketing roles in the financial industry, including at Lincoln Financial Group.
Matt Wallace has served as managing director, chief information officer of the company since his hire in July 2017. He plays a critical role in overseeing strategies and capabilities for all areas of information technology across the enterprise. Prior to joining The Bancorp, Wallace was with Bank of America for 13 years where he most recently served as senior vice president within the Card Division.
Transitions have also been implemented among two current members of the executive leadership team.
John Leto, who joined the company in July 2016 as chief administrative officer, now serves as executive vice president and head of institutional banking. Leto spent most of his career in leadership roles at some of the most notable wealth management organizations. Prior to joining The Bancorp, he served as president and CEO of Standard Chartered Private Bank for the Americas, as well as head of national sales of wealth management at TD Bank in the US.
Jeff Nager has expanded his role and is now executive vice president and head of commercial lending. In his new role, Nager will continue to lead the small business lending division but will also oversee the commercial fleet leasing division. Nager most recently led the SBA lending team at SunTrust Bank and previously held leadership positions at Wells Fargo and Community South Bank.
