TD Bank has promoted John A. Socarraz to business development officer, vice president in Asset-Based Lending. Based in Coral Gables, FL, he is responsible for developing new loans to middle-market companies throughout Florida.

Socarraz has 22 years of banking and lending experience. He joined TD Bank in 2009 as an ABL senior underwriter. Prior to joining TD Bank, Socarraz served as an underwriter at Wachovia Bank in Fort Lauderdale.

Socarraz is a graduate of the University of Houston in Texas, and Christopher Columbus High School in Miami.

TD Bank has also named Eugene (Gene) A. Leary as senior business development officer in Asset-Based Lending. Based in Bridgeport, CT, he is responsible for developing new and expanding existing ABL relationships in the New England and upstate New York market.

Leary has more than 20 years of experience in asset-based and leveraged lending. Prior to joining TD Bank, he worked at GE Capital in Norwalk, CT., Citibank in New York and Royal Bank of Scotland in Stamford, CT.

Leary received an MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York City, studied honors economics at McGill University in Montreal and received an undergraduate degree at State University of New York in Plattsburgh, NY.
