Paul Spivack joined SMBC Nikko Securities America, a member of SMBC Group, as managing director and deputy head of capital markets. In this role, Spivack will work with the firm’s debt business, providing advice and counsel to help drive further growth for the unit. He will report to Scott Ashby, managing director, head of capital markets and investment banking and senior deputy president for SMBC Nikko Securities America.

Spivack joined SMBC Nikko Securities America from Morgan Stanley, where he spent the past 17 years, most recently as a managing director, joint head of fixed income capital markets (FICM) in the Americas and head of debt capital markets in Latin America, a role he served in since 2018. He also served as managing director, global head of FICM syndicate and as a member of the global capital markets operating committee at Morgan Stanley. In these roles, Spivack jointly managed a group of more than 100 professionals across the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia. These teams were responsible for the origination and execution of debt securities, loans (including acquisition finance), derivatives, liability management and securitization.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2004, Spivack served in various positions with Hawk Global Advisors, Bank of America Securities, Bear Stearns, Credit Suisse First Boston, UBS, Coudert Brothers and the office of Ralph K. Winter.
