Jill Smart joined Alixpartners’ board of directors as a representative of La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, one of the firm’s strategic investment partners.

Smart was Accenture’s chief human resources officer for almost 10 years, a role she assumed after a 23-year career as a management consultant with the firm. As CHRO, she was responsible for all aspects of Accenture’s global human resources agenda, including resource planning, recruitment, on-boarding, training and development, staffing and deployment, performance management, employee engagement, succession planning and transitions.

After spending more than 33 years at Accenture, Smart retired from the organization and is currently the President of the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR), the organization where individuals and institutions of distinction in human resources are recognized for professional achievements by election as “Fellows of the NAHR”, and that
advances the work of the HR profession through research and outreach initiatives. Smart is also a director at EPAM Systems and an advisor for HPM Partners and JB Training Solutions. She served as a director at Alexander Mann Solutions until the firm was sold in 2018.

“I am delighted that Jill will be joining the AlixPartners board,” said Simon Freakley, CEO of AlixPartners. “Her combined skills as both a leader in a global management consulting organization and an expert in the field of human resources make her a great addition to our firm. Her experience and counsel will be of real benefit as we continue to grow AlixPartners as the career choice for the very best talent in our industry.”

Smart is a NAHR Fellow, a HR Policy Institute Fellow, a member of the G100 Talent Consortium Advisory Board and a member of the Peer Roundtable for HR.
