Simmons First National Corporation completed its acquisition of Tennessee-based Citizens National Bank.

The agreement was announced in May 2016 and Citizens National Bancorp shareholders approved the deal on September 8, 2016. The merger will begin on October 21, 2016.

Citizens President Jack B. Allen will join Simmons as East Tennessee community president.

Pine Bluff, AR-based Simmons First National Corporation is a financial holding company with $8.1 billion in assets and $5.3 billion in loans that conducts business in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee.
