Sanyo Solar Names HilcoBid to Manage PV Wafer Facility Sale

HilcoBid announced it has been engaged by Sanyo Solar (USA) to sell the company’s PV Wafer fabrication facility in Carson, CA. The private treaty/negotiated sale, which runs from now through May 18, 2012, is open to buyers interested in the total package of assets or individual lots.

Among the assets being sold are late model crystal-growers, including more than 20 Kayex CG6000 and KX150, slicers, saws, grinders, shapers, slabber/squaring machines, wafer cleaning systems, slurry recycling systems, test and inspection equipment, and a broad array of material handling and plant support equipment.

“HilcoBid is honored to have been chosen by Sanyo for this important disposition assignment and a testimony to the depth of experience HilcoBid has amassed,” said John Ward, EVP.

“Our understanding of the solar industry, knowledge of the equipment, and experience marketing the assets globally creates value for our clients,” said Brian Lee, EVP.

Recently, HilcoBid handled a successful disposition assignment for Evergreen Solar and is currently conducting an auction of assets originally valued at $350 million for Solyndra.
