Registration is now open for the International Factoring Association’s 19th Annual Factoring Conference to be held April 24 through April 27 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, FL. It will be a conference dedicated to banks and finance companies that offer factoring and receivables financing. With over 650 attendees and more than 45 exhibitors expected, the 2013 Factoring Conference is expected to top all attendance records.

This year’s conference will feature over 65 speakers, who will present valuable information and viewpoints ranging from resolving problem situations to cross-border factoring. They also include a Point/Counterpoint session to explore three disputed topics in the industry that is sure to be a lively session. The conference will offer fun activities, the annual golf event and a 5K walk for charity, a first-time activity.

This year’s guest speakers include:

  • Daniel Gross, the Global Business Editor at Newsweek and The Daily Beast, will address how the economy will affect factors, the myth of American decline and the rise of a new economy. Gross is one of the most widely read financial and economic writers working today and the author of several books. Before joining Newsweek in the spring of 2007, Gross wrote the “Economic View” column in the New York Times and contributed regularly to magazines such as Fortune and Wired.

  • Kevin Mitnick of Mitnick Security Consulting, Inc. will address the art of deception and expose the danger of being conned. He is a largely self-taught expert in exposing the vulnerabilities of complex operating systems and telecommunications devices. In building this body of knowledge, Mitnick gained unauthorized access to computer systems at some of the largest corporations on the planet and penetrated some of the most resilient computer systems ever developed. He is also the best-selling author of Ghost in the Wires, describing his exploits.

“We’re very excited about our speakers and activities, and hope they will draw some new faces. The conference is open to any professional in the industry, not just members,” said Bert Goldberg, executive director of the International Factoring Association. “We have once again created an event that gives attendees valuable information as well as opportunities to casually network and exchange ideas while socializing with their colleagues.”

Last year’s conference was the organization’s best-attended with over 650 participants. Attendees have said the conference continues to be the “not miss” event of the year.

“It was another very successful event with a much more diversified crowd. As always, I’m coming away energized, excited and feeling secure,” said Janelle Glidewell of LightStar Financial Services, LLC.

Regarding the exhibitors and sessions, Suellen Erwin of Infusion Funding in Allendale, NJ said, “There are so many changes in the factoring industry – this is an excellent venue for keeping up with those changes and what companies are offering and the challenges they are facing.”
