RBS Invoice Finance (RBSIF) announced the appointment of James Shaw as head of Portfolio, Corporate. The role includes managing a national team focused on delivering the audit, survey and risk management for RBSIF’s corporate client base, as well as overall responsibility for monitoring and reporting on the RBSIF Corporate portfolio. Shaw will be a key member of the Corporate Management team for RBSIF.

Shaw joined RBSIF after working previously for GE Capital for 12 years and prior to that at HSBC Invoice Finance for eight years. He has extensive experience having worked in this field for over 20 years and also brings with him considerable expertise in the formation, completion and management of asset-based lending (ABL) transactions. This is an area that RBSIF are focused on growing as highlighted with the appointment earlier this year of Kevin Haupert as head of ABL and Syndications. RBSIF has a strong appetite to structure ABL deals thereby introducing corporate clients to the benefits of using company assets to fund growth and working capital needs.

Shaw will be based in the bank’s 280 Bishopsgate office in London and will lead a team of 12 located across London, Feltham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.

Shaw explained: “For me the attraction of joining RBSIF was working in a team of likeminded people and somewhere where there is great potential for Corporate ABL growth. I am looking forward to getting to know my team and working closely with other members of the wider Corporate team to help new and existing clients.”

Chris Hawes, director of Corporate at RBS Invoice Finance said, “James’ appointment further demonstrates our commitment to the Corporate ABL space. James has broad and deep ABL skills and is a great addition to the growing Corporate team.”
