Royal Bank of Scotland expanded its asset-based lending team in London and the South East of England with the appointment of Charlie Hodgson as business development director.

Hodgson has more than 20 years experience across both the banking and advisory industries. He was previously with ABN AMRO Commercial Finance where he held the role of regional director in Structured and Corporate Finance.

“I’m delighted to be joining Royal Bank of Scotland’s Asset Based Lending team. The business has grown rapidly during the last few years and has incredible momentum,” Hodgson said. “I’m looking forward to contributing towards its further expansion, supporting the ambitions of new and existing clients. I believe there remains enormous potential to expand the use of ABL by the private equity sector and other growth companies, either as a standalone solution or as part of a multi-layered capital structure.”

Mark Cattle, head of Asset Based Lending, London and South East, said, “Charlie has a wealth of experience in asset-based lending both as a lender and as a business developer, which are undoubtedly the key strengths he brings to this role. He is an outstanding banking professional and his appointment brings great additional caliber to our ABL team.”
