Deloitte Financial Advisory Services has expanded its Corporate Restructuring Group (Deloitte CRG) with the addition of Scott Pinsonnault as a director specializing in oil and gas companies and the broader energy sector. Pinsonnault is based in Dallas.

Pinsonnault has 17 years of experience working on corporate bankruptcies and restructurings in oil, gas, energy and related industries. He has been the chief restructuring officer of two oil and gas companies and an adviser to a third. He has represented various banks as a financial advisor for their interests in exploration and production and oil field service companies.

Prior to joining Deloitte CRG, Pinsonnault worked for a boutique restructuring firm. Earlier, he worked with principal investment and lending groups. He also previously worked for five years as an exploration geologist and geophysicist, as well as a principal on an alternative funding acquisitions and divestment team for a leading exploration and production company based out of New Orleans.

Pinsonnault earned his bachelor’s degree in geology from St. Lawrence University, his master’s degree in geology and geophysics from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from Tulane University. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Geological Society of America, and the Academy of Management, among other organizations. He is also a named inventor for an online oil and gas reserve-based financial management system.
