Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) expanded its Global Forensic and Dispute Services group with the addition of David N. Paris who joins the firm as a senior director in Washington, D.C.

Prior to A&M, Paris was a managing director at Stout Risius Ross where he worked extensively with attorneys in all phases of the discovery process, including e-discovery, with both U.S. and non-U.S. clients.

With more than 25 years of experience addressing damages and competition issues in complex commercial disputes involving intellectual property in U.S. courts and arbitration proceedings, Mr. Paris joins the firm’s expanding Economic Litigation Practice. He has provided expert testimony on damages and competition issues, including lost profits and reasonable royalties, and on economic issues relevant to granting an injunction, including irreparable harm.

He brings added bench strength to the firm’s group of economic litigation experts with capabilities in areas including antitrust, labor, securities and finance, intellectual property and commercial disputes.
According to Dr. Steven Schwartz, who heads the Economic Litigation Practice at A&M, “David’s expertise in this area and hands on approach will be invaluable to a range of clients involved in complex intellectual property disputes.”

Paris also has significant experience advising clients on the financial and economic considerations in patent and trademark license negotiations, pre-litigation damages assessments and in litigation settlement discussions.
