Norton Rose Fulbright appointed Dr. Sylwia Maria Bea its new EMEA co-head of financial restructuring and insolvency.

Bea, a restructuring and insolvency partner based in Norton Rose Fulbright’s Frankfurt office, will join current EMEA co-head James Stonebridge – who is based in London – in overseeing the firm’s practice in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, working closely with the other regions across the global firm.

Bea has significant experience of advising the management, shareholders, insolvency administrators, investors and creditors of distressed companies on insolvency proceedings, as well as on in and out-of-court restructuring measures, including the distressed sale of Dradura Group to FMC and a number of StaRUG-proceedings.

“I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to co-lead Norton Rose Fulbright’s EMEA financial restructuring and insolvency practice,” Bea said. “It has been a busy period for our practice across the region and in these uncertain times we are anticipating things to be even busier. I look forward to working with the team to further support our clients in the coming months and years.”

“Sylwia has been a dedicated member of our financial, restructuring and insolvency team and has worked on a number of huge global projects,” Madhavi Gosavi, head of banking and finance, EMEA, at Norton Rose Fulbright, said. “I am confident Sylwia’s expertise will help us further develop our offering to our clients and take our strong, existing EMEA practice to even greater heights.”
