Northern Trust appointed Shana Hayes director of community affairs, which is responsible for the company’s philanthropic strategy globally. Hayes will report to chief marketing and communications officer Kelly Mannard.

Hayes will be responsible for setting a philanthropic strategy that will refine corporate giving programs to create more measurable social impact and foster employee engagement through enhanced volunteerism. She has more than 20 years of nonprofit and philanthropic experience across financial development, marketing, strategic planning and operations.

“Shana is a results-oriented executive with a proven track record of building and aligning impactful programs that help transform communities and populations,” said Mannard. “Her extensive background will strengthen our capabilities and perspective as we continue to engage and support the communities we serve.”
