Law firm Greenberg Traurig added J. Gregory Milmoe to its Boston and New York offices as a shareholder in the firm’s Restructuring and Bankruptcy practice.

Milmoe brings wide-ranging corporate experience to Greenberg Traurig, including in-court and out-of-court restructurings, hostile and negotiated mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and corporate financings. He retired from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom on December 31, 2017 after a 47-year career during which he served, among other things, as co-chair of the firm’s Corporate Restructuring Group.

“We are delighted to welcome Greg to the firm,” said Nancy A. Mitchell, co-chair of the Global Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice. “His broad experience and reputation as one of the U.S.’ leading restructuring lawyers will enhance and complement our strong and growing presence in the restructuring community.”

“I am thrilled to join Greenberg Traurig to continue my career as a practicing lawyer,” Milmoe said. “Greenberg Traurig is a comfortable fit from a cultural point of view – we share the ‘walk through walls’ approach to client needs, and I am looking forward to working with such distinguished and collaborative colleagues.”
