Transportation factoring company Match Factors announced that Eric Belk, vice president, recently earned the Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) designation from the Transportation Intermediaries Association.

In addition to freight bill factoring, Match Factors provides transportation brokerage, insurance, consulting, licensing and permitting services through its affiliated companies.

“The CTB designation demonstrates my company’s commitment to providing expert transportation services,” Belk said. “Having a strong foundation in industry knowledge allows us to effectively address all of truckers’ transportation needs as well as to deliver on our service commitment and professional integrity.”

The CTB Program was developed by the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) to increase the professionalism and integrity of property brokerage, meet the educational needs of brokers, and expand basic knowledge of the brokerage and transportation industry through a rigorous certification program. The CTB Program, designed with home study and exam components, provides brokers with a wealth of information on business operations, transportation regulations, and brokerage practices.

Before they can take the exam, a CTB candidate must have professional experience in the property brokerage, logistics management, or other third party experience.

In addition, Belk has previously earned the Certified Account Executive in Factoring (CAEF) designation from the International Factoring Association, a rigorous exam-based certification which measures a candidate’s competency and skill in the factoring profession.

Florence, SC-based Match Factors has been providing accounts receivable factoring solutions for the transportation industry since 1984.
