Mackinac Partners, a financial advisory and turnaround management firm, announced that Matt Beresh, a managing director, has been presented with a top “Service Provider” award from The M&A Advisor in its 5th Annual 40 Under 40 Recognition Awards. He was announced as one of the winners in his category among numerous competing individuals for his efforts on several fronts over the past year including the §363 sale of a $300 million hog production company.

“We are very proud that Matt has received this important award and recognition from business leaders and his industry peers,” said Jim Weissenborn, co-founder and managing partner at Mackinac Partners. “Matt has been an integral part of our practice for over ten years, and our clients and business partners have great respect for his professionalism, capabilities and the value he brings to restructuring solutions and M&A transactions. We are very pleased for Matt on behalf of the entire Mackinac Partners family.”

A Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), Beresh has served on many senior management teams representing debtors, secured lenders and private equity companies in directing restructuring operations, cash flow and liquidity, and stakeholder negotiations. Beresh has extensive M&A experience in both buy-side and sell-side transactions, and has helped direct several key transactions in recent years, including the acquisition and integration of multiple distressed timeshare competitors with transaction values of greater than $200 million, the §363 sale of a $300 million hog production company, and the divestiture of two business units for a $2 billion consumer products company. Deals Beresh has led or played a key role in over the past five years have received eight awards from leading industry organizations, including The M&A Advisor.

Mackinac Partners received three 2014 awards from The M&A Advisor earlier this year for its role as restructuring financial advisor and Chief Restructuring Officer to AgFeed Industries, Inc. including International M&A Deal of the Year, Agriculture Deal of the Year and §363 Sale of the Year.
