LendingTree appointed Laura Yens as the company’s general counsel. She succeeds Kate Pierce, who retired in August 2018.

Yens will oversee and manage all legal functions at LendingTree.

Yens brings 20 years of legal experience in the technology and financial service industries to LendingTree’s executive team. She most recently served as counsel at Alston & Bird, where she advised senior management at global banks and fintech companies on complex, strategically significant matters.

Prior to that, Yens served as senior managing counsel at Mastercard, where she managed multiple global cross-divisional teams supporting corporate strategic initiatives, and a global legal team supporting businesses and operations worldwide. Before Mastercard, she served in various roles at technology companies, including AOL.

“After an extensive search for LendingTree’s next general counsel, I’m thrilled to welcome Laura to the LendingTree team,” said Doug Lebda, founder and CEO of LendingTree. “Laura’s extensive experience with building and managing legal teams at technology-driven organizations will undoubtedly be an invaluable asset to our company and its continued growth.”
