KPMG International named Judd Caplain global head of banking and capital markets. Judd will succeed Bill Michael, who now serves as chairman and senior partner of KPMG in the UK.

“Judd is a client-focused leader who has helped innumerable financial services organizations to take on some of their biggest strategic challenges,” said Jim Liddy, chairman of KPMG’s Global Financial Services Practice. “His extensive hands-on experience is of tremendous value to financial services clients around the world.”

“There is unprecedented change taking place in financial services and I’m extremely excited to lead KPMG’s global banking and capital markets practice at this critical time,” Caplain added.

A 20-year industry veteran, Judd joined KPMG in the U.S. in 2001. He previously worked at Mitchell Madison Group, a financial services management consulting firm, and JPMorgan Chase. He has lead teams advising a number of the world’s leading financial institutions in areas such as banking strategy, regulatory and controls, operations, finance and transformation.
