KPMG International appointed Regina Mayor as the global sector head of the Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) practice.

Houston-based Mayor joined KPMG in the U.S. in 2006 and has more than 25 years of experience in delivering large-scale business and technology changes to major oil companies around the world.

Mayor has played a significant role in the growth of KPMG’s ENR practice and has been part of the ENR leadership team for a number of years as the U.S. national sector leader for ENR and Chemicals and the Americas oil and gas leader. Mayor will continue to hold the U.S. national sector role.

Mayor succeeds Michiel Soeting who will be rotating off from the role after eight years to continue client leadership roles with KPMG in the UK.

“Through Regina’s numerous leadership roles at KPMG and extensive industry experience, she possesses significant depth and expertise that will support building on the practice’s successes and provide continued superior client service,” said Nick Chism, KPMG’s deputy global head of sales and markets.

Mayor has served as an adjunct professor at Rice University teaching a class on Energy Strategy for executive MBA students. Mayor also was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and co-leads KPMG’s (U.S.) national veterans network.

“It has never been a more exciting time to work in the ENR sector with all the disruptive forces affecting the industry,” Mayor said. “I am looking forward to continuing to work closely with my colleagues globally to share ideas and further build on the strength of our capabilities that address the issues and emerging challenges our clients are facing.”
