J.P. Morgan Commercial Banking has hired Bret Schiller to lead its Corporate Client Banking and Specialized Industries (CCBSI) healthcare vertical.

Schiller joins J.P. Morgan as a managing director and head of Healthcare for CCBSI. He will manage CCBSI’s healthcare strategy and team, as well as build strong relationships with clients to support their business goals. Schiller, who was previously a managing director of Healthcare Investment Banking at SunTrust, has 20 years of healthcare finance and investment banking experience. He will be based in Atlanta and report to Rob Holmes, global head of CCBSI for Commercial Banking.

“J.P. Morgan is a leader in healthcare finance and we’re excited to build upon that strength to best serve the needs of our clients,” said Holmes. “Our people are our biggest differentiator and I know that Bret will bring tremendous value to the team.”

CCBSI focuses on mid-to-large cap companies headquartered in North America, Europe and APAC with complex financing needs, including treasury, credit and investment banking. Schiller’s team will partner with the Corporate & Investment Bank’s top healthcare practice to deliver the breadth of the firm’s capabilities and provide customized financial solutions for clients.

Healthcare accounted for nearly 18% of GDP in 2018 and the industry continues to grow.
