Alan Isenberg, former head of product strategy and marketing at Neuberger Berman, joined Angelo Gordon, a $51 billion alternative investment firm, as global head of its client partnership group. In this role, he will be responsible for leading the firm’s worldwide client and product functions, including new business development, client coverage, product development and management and client service.

Isenberg will report to Josh Baumgarten, co-CEO of Angelo Gordon, and succeeds former global head of investor relations Garrett Walls, who will remain a senior advisor to the firm until his planned retirement at year-end.

“Alan is a seasoned client and product leader with deep, substantive relationships across the industry. He brings a rare blend of product strategy, global investor engagement and talent management experience to this important role,” Baumgarten said. “We look forward to Alan’s contributions as we continue to execute on the firm’s strategic initiatives, deliver a thoughtful and focused client experience and maximize value for all of our investors.”

“Few firms offer Angelo Gordon’s unique combination of strengths: outstanding investment-focused leadership that drives performance and client responsiveness, a private ownership structure that supports long-term alignment and a culture that encourages collaboration and rigor,” Isenberg said. “I look forward to working with our talented client partnership professionals to continue strengthening our ability to serve current and future investors.”

At Neuberger Berman, Isenberg served on the firm’s operating committee and was a senior sponsor of NB Pride, the firm’s LBGTQ+ affinity group. Previously, Isenberg was with PIMCO, serving as executive vice president, head of strategy and business management for its Asia-Pacific business. He also served as an account manager in PIMCO’s U.S. institutional business, where he focused on public pension clients.
