HSBC CEO Flint Steps Down After 18 Months

The Wall Street Journal reported that John Flint, who become HSBC’s CEO last February, is stepping down. Noel Quinn, HSBC’s global commercial banking head, will serve as interim CEO.

According to the Journal, Flint’s low-key style was out of sync with the demands of the bank, and the board decided he needed to go. The decision was, reported the Journal, a surprise to many.
