Corporate restructuring and public affairs strategies firm Gavin/Solmonese expanded its team with the addition of turnaround expert Timothy G. Skillman as a managing director in its Los Angeles office.

With more than 25 years of turnaround, restructuring, performance improvement and change management experience, Skillman joins Gavin/Solmonese from Grant Thornton, where he was a principal in its corporate advisory and restructuring practice.

Skillman specializes in developing and implementing viable performance improvement strategies for manufacturing, distribution and service companies. His areas of expertise include: process improvement, cash flow improvement; organizational design and employee productivity within the company. Before his career as a turnaround expert, Tim spent 13 years as a commercial banker, where his clients were primarily mid-continent and West Coast exploration and production companies.

“Tim’s extensive experience in commercial banking as well as his knowledge of the energy industry will benefit our firm and our clients,” said Ted Gavin, Gavin/Solmonese managing director and founding partner. “His knowledge will serve our growing energy practice and will enhance our offerings to West Coast companies in distress.”

Gavin/Solmonese Corporate Restructuring Group (formerly NHB Advisors) provides leadership for underperforming and troubled companies and their stakeholders, helping businesses maximize value for owners, investors, creditors and employees.
