FrontWell Capital Partners added three professionals who bring expertise in sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management across industries and multiple market cycles to its organization.

Aubrie De Sylva joined the firm’s deal originations team as vice president and Kevin Freer and Andrew Isaac joined the underwriting team as vice president and assistant vice president, respectively.

“We are thrilled that this group of talented and deeply motivated credit professionals have joined the FrontWell team,” Patrick Dalton, CEO at FrontWell, said. “Each of them brings an outstanding background, proven track record and relevant market experience that will be highly valuable as we aim to become a go-to middle-market direct lender for U.S. and Canadian businesses that are looking beyond traditional sources of capital. With dedicated originations and underwriting teams and deep lending relationships across a range of industries, we are uniquely positioned to partner with management teams to help sustain and grow their businesses.”

FrontWell recently began operations with committed seed capital of more than $350 million.

De Sylva, vice president of deal originations, is a business development and finance professional with more than 10 years of experience originating and managing deals for Canadian domestic Schedule 1 Financial Institutions and several multinational banks. Prior to joining FrontWell, she served as senior vice president in the Canadian office of Bank of America, where she was responsible for origination and account management of complex commercial and corporate banking transactions with both public and private companies from 2017 to 2020.

Freer, vice president of underwriting and portfolio management, has more than 30 years of progressive lending experience at both Canadian-based and foreign financial institutions operating in Canada. Prior to joining FrontWell, he worked with a U.S. finance company and, subsequently, a U.S. bank, as it expanded in Canada. Previously, Freer worked for one of the big five Canadian-domiciled banks, where he helped establish one of the first asset-based lending groups among the group.

Isaac, assistant vice president of underwriting and portfolio management, previously managed the commercial loan portfolios for two public entities owned and operated by a Canadian real estate management and development firm, mitigating and managing borrowing risks while leading all reporting, compliance and control requirements. Isaac also served as internal underwriting advisor on loan originations related to land procurement, site development, and residential and commercial construction, and long-term financings.

Headquartered in Toronto, FrontWell Capital Partners provides transitionary senior debt financing to middle-market companies in the United States and Canada.
