Alvarez & Marsal added Robert J. Milan as a managing director in the firm’s Disputes and Investigations practice. In this role, Milan will lead complex global forensic investigations in the areas of anti-corruption, corporate fraud and data breach response.

As a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, a former Cook County, IL prosecutor and an experienced senior executive in the corporate risk management sector, Milan advises clients on investigations, data breach response, data recovery, e-discovery, litigation support and forensic accounting.

“Bob’s wealth of investigative knowledge and experience fits perfectly with A&M’s lines of business and enhances our offerings to global clients,” said Bryan Ruez, managing director and global leader of A&M Disputes and Investigations. “Bob’s ability to uncover and solve complex and sophisticated fraud schemes will position him as a great source of knowledge, a subject matter expert and a trusted partner for our clients.”

Milan most recently served as a managing director in the Chicago office of Kroll and previously held positions at Stroz Friedberg and Navigant Consulting.

Between 2003-2008, he served as first assistant state’s attorney of Cook County. While there, Milan supervised more than 900 assistant state’s attorneys, 150 investigators and several-hundred support staff and led multiple complex, long-term investigations.

Outside of his work at A&M, Milan continues to serve as the special state’s attorney of Cook County, tasked to oversee the prosecutions of more than 25 individuals previously convicted of murder.
