Jeff Tischler joined Conway MacKenzie’s restructuring team as managing director. In his new role, Tischler will work within the firm’s restructuring practice, fostering client relationships and business development.

With nearly 15 years of experience in senior level positions within the banking industry, Tischler most recently served as senior vice president of Fifth Third Bank, where he led the Eastern Michigan wholesale division and directly managed a team of 20, including team leaders and relationship managers. He concentrated on core middle market, upper middle market and mid corporate banking across a variety of industries.

Previously, Tischler held a senior level role in the bank’s credit department, where he led a team of credit officers and portfolio managers whose responsibilities included performing assessments of individual and overall credit quality, advising on the issues related to policy, underwriting, risk appetite, risk exposure and client specific strategy.

Additionally, Tischler held senior positions in the bank’s Special Assets Group including oversight for a high performing team focused on the bank’s largest risk exposures. His responsibilities included oversight, development and implementation of highly complex treatment strategies. He and his team successfully managed and worked with companies in special situations having a high degree of distress.

Tischler is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.
