The Wall Street Journal reported Millstein & Co. hired Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation veteran Jim Wigand to expand the restructuring advisory firm’s government and financial-industry business.

According to the Journal , Wigand, previously led the FDIC’s Office of Complex Financial Institutions, the department set up under the Dodd-Frank financial regulatory overhaul to oversee nation’s biggest financial institutions.

Between 1997 and 2010, he managed the wind down of failing insured financial institutions and the sales of their assets, among other roles in the agency, the Journal added.
