Crédit Agricole CIB appointed Ghislain Descamps senior country officer for Canada.

Descamps most recently led Crédit Agricole CIB’s multinational corporation coverage team in the Americas based in New York City since 2014. In that position, he contributed to the growth of the multinational corporation coverage business, culture and global franchise while also developing a renewable energy and distributed generation international and U.S. client base.

Descamps was previously based in Lille, France, starting in 2011, where he was the regional managing director for the northwest part of France within Crédit Agricole CIB’s mid-cap division. Prior to that, he was part of the multinational corporation coverage team in New York, beginning in 2007, after being a mid-cap coverage banker at the company’s branch in Lyon, France. Descamps started his career in 1999 at Crédit Agricole Indosuez in GMD sales.

Ghislain will be based in Montreal and will be part of the Americas management committee, reporting to Marc-André Poirier, senior regional officer for the Americas for Crédit Agricole CIB.

“I am delighted to appoint Ghislain to lead our team in Canada. He will play a key role to grow the Canadian platform, bringing value to the Canadian financial institutions and corporates and also to support sustainable international investment in Canada,” Poirier said.

Crédit Agricole CIB is the corporate and investment banking arm of Crédit Agricole Group.
