Context Business Lending, a national asset-based lender, appointed Meredith L. Carter as managing director of Business Development and assistant general counsel.

Carter will lead the company’s effort to identify and evaluate opportunities to provide lower middle market businesses, who otherwise do not qualify for traditional bank financing, with vital working capital to facilitate growth.

Carter joins Context after more than a decade of legal and business development work across a variety of industries. Her experience includes leading firm-wide business development and marketing for a national mid-sized law firm, representing growth companies while practicing corporate law in Delaware, and leading efforts to build referral relationships and negotiate deals with top law firms and universities for an alternative financing company.

“Meredith shares the values that are core to our business and we are excited to bring her on board at this time of growth and expansion. Her significant business development experience and personal approach to developing long-term relationships positions her to be a great asset to lead our business development efforts,” said John Giangiulio, co-founder and managing director of Context Business Lending.
