Chiron Financial, a middle market investment banking firm, made two new additions to its team. Timothy Tran and Alex LaPiana joined the firm as associates, supporting the efforts of principals Jay Krasoff and Scott Johnson. Both Tran and LaPiana will be based in the firm’s headquarters in Houston.

Tran joined the firm in September. Previously, he served as a supply and trading analyst with Chevron and as a business consultant with Accenture. In addition to his deep expertise in the oil and gas industry, he has guided clients in the manufacturing, financial services and professional services industries through operational transformations.

LaPiana was an underwriter and business development officer with PNC Business Credit prior to joining the firm in early October. As underwriter, he evaluated middle market and large cap transactions for family-owned, private equity-backed and public companies. As business development officer, he sourced, structured and assisted closings for clients in a variety of industries and capital structures.

Their responsibilities include supporting senior members of the firm, as well as executing private placement and M&A transactions, performing valuations, and conducting industry and company research. They will also act as dedicated points of contact for clients throughout the transaction process.
