CapitalSource announced that executive chairman John K. Delaney is taking a leave of absence without pay to run for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The leave of absence is effective immediately. Delaney will continue in his role as chairman of the board of directors.

A related story in the Washington Business Journal said that Delaney is seeking the Democratic nomination for Maryland’s 6th District, which was redrawn this year to include part of Montgomery County, MD. The seat is held by Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, a ten-term Republican who has said he plans to seek reelection, the article noted.
