Marius Silvasan, CEO of eCapital, a finance provider for businesses across North America and the U.K., was named a Best in Biz Awards bronze winner in the Executive of the Year – Medium Companies category. The Best in Biz Awards are the only independent business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications in North America.

For nearly 15 years, Silvasan has been growing eCapital into a global provider of alternative lending, supporting small and medium-sized businesses with customized finance solutions to meet their goals and achieve long-term, profitable growth. Executing a successful M&A strategy, he has integrated 12 independent, strong companies into one, unified, company. Silvasan has accelerated the company’s growth by expanding into new industries, gaining technologies that have propelled eCapital forward, and increasing the services the company offers customers.

“With his deep background as an entrepreneur, Marius has a unique perspective and a clear vision for business expansion and developing multi-disciplinary teams with customer-centricity as a core value,” Charles Sheppard, chief product officer and chief operating officer of eCapital, said. “Congratulations to Marius on this well-deserved recognition as an industry visionary, leading eCapital through exponential growth that allows us to help even more small and medium-sized companies reach their financial goals.”

The 12th annual program saw more than 700 entries from public and private companies of all sizes and representing all industries and regions in the U.S. and Canada, ranging from some of the most iconic global brands to the most innovative start-ups and resilient local companies. This year’s judges highlighted the winning companies’ visionary leadership, innovative strides in the use of new technologies, laudable employee diversity and inclusion programs and workplace best practices, and many winners’ continued community involvement and monetary and time investments in their environment and corporate social responsibility programs.

“The depth and breadth of this year’s nominees in Best in Biz Awards – and especially the winners – demonstrate savvy business acumen among the leadership and represent the type of entrepreneurship powering today’s economy,” Dustin Klein from Smart Business said. “I came away from the judging experience inspired, filled with ideas and energized!”

Since the program’s inception in 2011, winners have been determined based on scoring from independent judging panels assembled each year from some of the most respected national and local newspapers, TV and radio outlets, and business, consumer, technology and trade publications in North America. The 2022 judging panel included, among others, writers from AdWeek, Computerworld, Forbes, The Globe & Mail, The Oregonian and Portland Tribune.
