Balance Point Capital named Adam Sauerteig vice president and hired Grant Groher as a senior associate. As vice president, Sauerteig will focus on deal origination, deal execution and portfolio management, while Groher will bring an extensive background in the underwriting and execution of debt financings to non-investment grade companies to his associate role.

Sauerteig rejoined Balance Point in 2015 as an associate upon receiving his MBA. Since originally joining Balance Point in 2010, Sauerteig has underwritten, structured and executed debt and equity investments in lower middle-market companies across a variety of industries. Prior to rejoining Balance Point, Sauerteig worked as a Summer Associate in the Investment Banking division of Lazard. Sauerteig began his career as an analyst with Balance Point.

Prior to joining Balance Point, Groher worked as an associate in the Financial Sponsors Group at Credit Suisse Securities, where he was responsible for the due diligence and underwriting of syndicated loan and bridge financings for private equity led leveraged buyout and M&A transactions. Groher began his career at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation where he assisted in the evaluation and execution of corporate M&A and asset transactions in the energy industry.

Partner Justin Kaplan commented, “We are very proud of Adam’s hard work and fortunate to add Grant to the team. We expect both Adam and Grant to play key roles in advancing our investment strategy of providing flexible capital solutions to companies and management teams across the lower middle market.”
