Bain Capital Credit’s private credit group invested $2.7 billion to support the growth of middle-market and private equity-backed companies in 2021.

Bain Capital Credit’s private credit group invested in more than 100 businesses across 32 industries in 2021, supporting the refinancing, leveraged buyout and add-on acquisition activity of both new and existing portfolio companies. With a track record of investing in middle market private debt dating back to 1998, the private credit group has invested approximately $18 billion across over 400 portfolio companies since inception.

Additional 2021 highlights include:

  • Invested $2.7 billion across more than 100 distinct portfolio companies, including to 38 new platforms
  • Served as lead lender on approximately 70% of new commitments
  • Strong credit performance across its diversified portfolio of 190 middle market businesses
  • Closed on over $2 billion of new capital for investments
