Antares Capital Advisers closed a $700 million collateralized loan obligation (CLO). The transaction represents the third CLO issued by Antares, bringing the company’s total CLO assets under management to approximately $4 billion.
Antares CLO 2018-1 will invest in leveraged loans to middle market, private equity-backed companies.
“With the successful close of our third CLO within 12 months, we are very pleased with the reception we continue to receive from the market,” said Vivek Mathew, head of asset management and funding for Antares. “Middle market private debt is an increasingly attractive space for investors. As a market leader, investors value our strong performance through market cycles and our ability to be highly selective in building a portfolio of borrowers.”
Antares chose to purchase 100% of the subordinated notes issued by the CLO. Third-party investors in the CLO include pension funds, banks, insurance companies and asset managers.
