Alvarez & Marsal Taxand added Jon de Jong and Louis Mancini as senior directors on its tax advisory team.

“Conducting in-depth tax due diligence is an integral part of the transaction advisory process for our clients,” said Ernesto Perez, global practice leader of A&M Taxand and the firm’s Global Transaction Tax Advisory Practice. “The expansion of our Global Transaction Tax Advisory team will help us to continue to meet and exceed our clients’ tax planning needs for both domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and other complex transactions.”

de Jong will be based in Denver and focus on global M&A tax advisory with respect to both strategic and private equity investments. With more than 20 years of experience advising one of the nation’s largest closely-held corporations and its affiliates, de Jong has the unique perspective of a professional who has led the in-house M&A tax function of a company regularly involved in transactions ranging from $10 million to more than $20 billion.

Mancini will be based in New York and focus on tax due diligence, deal structuring, cash tax modelling and the integration of acquired businesses for state tax efficiencies. He has more than 13 years of transaction tax experience and previously served as a director in the mergers and acquisitions tax practice at PwC in New York, where he provided strategic tax counsel to private equity and corporate clients.

A&M Taxand additionally added Jeremy Archibald, Yuval Ruppin, Alex Wall and Matthew Zanedis as senior associates and Sanup Desai, Katherine Goo, Loretta Tracy, Maria Podova, Sami Waseem and Max Weiss as associates to the Global Transaction Tax team.
