Alvarez & Marsal appointed Anthony (Tony) Lynch a managing director in its North American automotive and industrials group and its aerospace, defense and aviation practice.

Prior to joining A&M, Lynch was a managing director at Accenture, where he helped clients design and implement strategies for digital manufacturing and intelligent supply chain. He also served as a senior director in the Manufacturing Center of Excellence at A.T. Kearney for nearly 14 years. Before he began his consulting career, he worked in computer-aided design and manufacturing.

Lynch’s appointment follows the recent hiring of managing directors Rick Kozole, leader of A&M’s North American automotive and industrials group, and James Marceau, a senior leader in A&M’s aerospace, defense and aviation practice.

“The automotive industry is at a critical juncture. Revenues have dropped precipitously at a time when the industry is most in need of capital. The ability to invest in innovation and adapt to evolving fundamentals, such as retooling plants to produce electric and autonomous vehicles, is key to ensuring the sector’s sustainability and vibrancy,” Kozole said. “Similarly, the aerospace and defense industries are coping with lack of capital at a time when they need to invest in supporting innovation.

“The automotive, aerospace and defense, and industrial companies face profound challenges and must adapt to rapid changes transforming their industries. Tony’s track record of helping manufacturers strengthen their financial position while improving and restructuring their processes bolsters our ability to develop results-oriented solutions that help our clients address these critical challenges.”
