AlixPartners added Donald J. Schneider as its chief people officer, a new position at the firm.

In this role, Schneider will lead AlixPartners’ global people functions, including recruitment, compensation and talent management and development. He will be based in the New York office, serve on the firm’s management committee and will report to CEO Simon Freakley.

Schneider has experience in human resource leadership positions with international companies, most recently having served as group human resources director at Old Mutual plc in London. Prior to that he held a range of senior positions at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley in London and New York.
