Natalie Ramsey
Partner, Co-Chair of Bankruptcy & Reorganizations Practice
Robinson+Cole

As co-chair of Robinson+Cole’s bankruptcy and reorganizations practice, Natalie Ramsey leads a team of highly skilled and experienced lawyers. The group has realized unprecedented and dynamic growth and profitability during her tenure at the firm.

While successfully guiding, mentoring and inspiring her team members, Ramsey builds strong relationships by successfully partnering with clients to best represent their interests. She advises clients in distressed financial situations and assists them in the transactional and litigation aspects of restructuring. Each company’s situation is unique, requiring Ramsey to tailor her approach to ensure clients achieve the best possible outcome and receive the optimal service level.

A veteran with nearly 40 years of experience, Ramsey has focused her practice on creditor and committee representation in mass tort cases, which has become a large part of her practice in the last two decades. Her representation of a group of non-settling cancer claimants in the Combustion Engineering bankruptcy led to a groundbreaking Third Circuit reversal of bankruptcy and district court decisions confirming a pre-packaged bankruptcy plan that prejudiced the rights of her clients. Ramsey’s experience with the intricacies of international creditors’ rights laws expanded when she represented the debtors in the O.W. Bunker cases, which received the international Restructuring Deal of the Year and Energy Deal of the Year awards, both in the $500 million to $1 billion category, from M&A Advisor in 2017.

Throughout her career, Ramsey has earned the respect and admiration of clients, colleagues and peers in the restructuring sector. She is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, where she is the outgoing Third Circuit Regent, and previously served as the chairperson of the Consumer Assistance Bankruptcy Project and as president of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference.
