Greenberg Traurig Transactions Receive Four '12 ACG NY Awards

Greenberg Traurig was part of the winning deal team of four awards at the Second Annual ACG New York Champion’s Awards. The awards recognize companies, professional service firms, individual dealmakers and transactions in the mergers & acquisitions industry in the New York area.

The firm won in the Energy category for its role in representing Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA) and Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) in a joint venture with Edison Mission Energy to make wind farm investments.

The firm also won in the Middle-Market Deal of the Year (Between $50 million and $100 million), Corporate/Strategic Acquisition of the Year (Between $5 million and $100 million) and Professional Services (B-to-B) categories for its role in the acquisition of Ranger International Services Group, Inc. by Berger Group of Companies.

In addition, Greenberg Traurig deals were selected as finalists in the following categories: Middle-Market Deal of the Year (Over $250 million); Middle-Market Deal of the Year (Between $50 million and $100 million); Professional Services (B-to-B).

Leading the TIAA and CIRI wind farm investment team at Greenberg Traurig were, Mike Kelly (New York), Ken Gerasimovich (New York), Nathan Limpert (New York), Andrew Scher (New Jersey), Sun-Young Park (New York), Rob Lamkin (Washington, DC), Kerri Barsh (Miami), Ed Martos (Miami), Mary Marks (New York), Allen Kadish (New York), Christina An (New York), Amanda Adams (New York), Jacob Edelman (New York), Ryan Reiffert (New York).

The Greenberg Traurig team for the acquisition of Ranger International Services Group, Inc. by Berger Group of Companies and related financing included, Bruce March (Fort Lauderdale), Jonathan Malkin (Fort Lauderdale), Masha Shmukler (Phoenix), Harry Friedman (Fort Lauderdale), Mindy Leathe (Miami), Philip Sellinger (New Jersey), Tom Duignan (New Jersey) and Zarifa Reynolds (New York).

Ken Gerasimovich was part of the independent body of experts, representing a cross-section of professionals in the middle-market industry, who judged the finalists’ deals, deal makers and firms.
