Mangas, until very recently CEO & Board Director (and former CFO) of Starwood Hotels & Resorts which was recently acquired by Marriott International, will discuss Starwood’s merger with Marriott and his “Journey from CFO to CEO” in a fireside chat with Linda Zukauckas, EVP & Corporate Controller of American Express.

The complex $13 billion merger of Stamford, CT-based Starwood into Bethesda, MD-based Marriott has been described as creating the world’s largest and best hotel company with more than 1.1 million rooms and about 5,700 hotels in more than 110 countries. It has been called the hospitality industry’s biggest deal since the fall 2007 purchase of Hilton Hotels by Blackstone Group.

As CEO and board director of Starwood, Tom Mangas had full P&L leadership for delivering top and bottom line growth across all Starwood global assets, including 1,300 managed and franchised hotels worldwide.
