Bankruptcy 2017: Views from the Bench, presented by the American Bankruptcy Institute and Georgetown Law Continuing Legal Education, offers a unique opportunity for bankruptcy practitioners to hear from more than one dozen bankruptcy judges during a full day of high-quality CLE and networking opportunities.

This year’s program will examine a number of current bankruptcy topics, including retail bankruptcies, limited liability companies, the impact of the Jevic decision, and much more.

Two great debates, moderated by Craig Goldblatt of WilmerHale (Washington, D.C.), will be the centerpiece of the program. Bankruptcy Judge Michael E. Wiles (S.D.N.Y.; New York) will debate Bankruptcy Judge Mary Grace Diehl (N.D. Ga.; Atlanta) over third-party releases and whether they should be permitted in a bankruptcy proceeding. Norman N. Kinel of Squire Patton Boggs (New York) will also debate Nan Eitel of the Executive Office of the U.S. Trustee (Washington, D.C.) on the application of Jevic to gifting in bankruptcy cases.
