Wynnchurch Capital announced that Jim Goodwin, former chairman and CEO of UAL Corporation and United Airlines, and Joe Anderson, former chairman, CEO and majority owner of TAG Holdings, joined Wynnchurch’s executive advisory board.

Established earlier this year, the board became a cornerstone of Wynnchurch’s Value Creation Model by actively connecting influential business leaders with portfolio company leadership to pass on expertise and acumen in targeted industries, geographic markets and business disciplines.

Goodwin is the non-executive chairman of the board of Federal Signal and serves on the boards of directors of AAR, JB Technologies and the board of trustees of Lewis University. He served as interim chief executive and interim president of Federal Signal Corporation from 2007 to 2008. Previously, he was the chairman and CEO of United Airlines and UAL where he held various leadership positions across all facets of the airline industry.

Anderson served as chairman, CEO and majority owner of TAG Holdings, the fifth largest minority owned business in the U.S. and a global provider of manufacturing and supply chain services targeting the aerospace, automotive, construction and defense industries. He was the immediate past chairman of the manufacturing council with the U.S. Dept. of Commerce and serves on the boards of directors of Quaker Chemical Corporation, Meritor, NV Energy, Valassis Communications and Rite Aid. He held various senior leadership positions at General Motors and had a highly decorated career in the U.S. Army. Anderson is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Consistent with one of the goals of the executive advisory board, Goodwin and Anderson are actively sharing their industry and business expertise by serving on boards of directors of Wynnchurch portfolio companies and personally engaging company leadership. Goodwin is a director of Northstar Aerospace and Burtek Enterprises, while Anderson is a director of JAC Products.

“The addition of Jim and Joe to our advisory board aligns with our goal of developing a team of advisors who share our core values and can help us achieve a deeper understanding of our targeted industries, enabling us to further develop our growth strategies. Wynnchurch will greatly benefit from the depth of industry expertise and overall business acumen that Joe and Jim bring, and we are thrilled to have them on our team,” says John Hatherly, founding partner of Wynnchurch.
